Position Description

• Provide assistance to the Middle Markets Property Manager in the development of the firm's property insurance business for middle market accounts domiciled in the USA.

• Underwrite, maintain, and grow a book of new business in the Retail Property specialty.

• In collaboration with our Strategy & Development team, develop and maintain broker relationships based in the central Region.

• Evaluate and prioritize submissions; analyze exposure using our analytics and modeling tools, review coverage; formulate an offer and determine the pricing in alignment with the profitability objectives of the Business Unit. Negotiate the final property insurance product.

• Engage with Risk Control to determine account risk surveys and recommendations action plans.

• Prepare and deliver presentations to brokers and Arch senior management.

Education & Experience

• 4 year college degree is a plus.

• Completion of a professional designation: CPCU. ARM is a plus.

• At least five years of prior property underwriting experience handling ground up middle market accounts, monoline Property or property associated in package.

• Preference given to those with experience working with Retail Property brokers.

Key Competencies

• Must have well developed business and social skills and capabilities for strengthening client/broker relationships.

• Strong communications skills; business writing and oral presentation skills must be excellent.

• Must be a self-starter with strong organizational skills and ability to work independently

• Technology capabilities in Microsoft products such as Excel, Word, and PowerPoint are essential, as is ability to use and manipulate data.

• Knowledge of CAT Modeling including reading model output.
