The Position

Arch Reinsurance Property & Specialty Underwriting Intern: Do you have an entrepreneurial spirit and analytical mindset? Do you like building strong relationships and providing the best customer experience? An Underwriting Internship with Arch Reinsurance will give you tangible real-world experience in all areas of property underwriting and get you some skin in the game. Come join the team!

Internship Responsibilities

• Interns will be provided with education sessions, exposure to all aspects of Property & Specialty underwriting, networking, and team building opportunities

• Extensive hands-on training with Underwriters and the Assistant Underwriting team- learning through repetition

• Learn the ins and outs of our underwriting systems, processes, and account set up

• Assist team by performing tasks designed to gain an understanding of Property & Specialty underwriting while providing research and information to the team

• Demonstrate ability to achieve results by setting goals, prioritizing tasks and staying accountable to stakeholders

• Partner with other interns on any group/ team activities- end of program capstone project

Desired Skills and Experience

• Team player with ability to collaborate effectively

• A self-starter with the ability to work independently and deal effectively with multiple tasks/priorities in a fast-paced environment

• Entrepreneurial spirit along with the desire to be a continuous learner

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Sound computer/technology skills

Education

• Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors enrolled in an accredited college or university

• Suggested majors: Liberal Arts, Risk Management, Economics, Business, Communications

Location & Work Arrangement:

• This position is classified as a hybrid position. You will work 2 days onsite and 3 days from home.
• This position is in Morristown, NJ.

Timeline

Arch summer internship positions will be posted from November 2023 – March 2024 and will be unposted when filled.

Pay

For individuals assigned to or hired to work in Morristown, NJ, the hourly rate is $22 to $26 as of the time of posting. The breadth in the range exists to accommodate students in specialized programs such as actuarial candidates and graduate students. Any actual rate offered will take into account a number of factors including but not limited to geographic location, scope & responsibilities of the role, along with the education & qualifications of the candidate. The above range may be modified in the future. Intern position is eligible for select Arch benefits.
