The position:

Arch Re Fac’s Underwriting Directors are members of a team spanning the United States, Canada and Europe focused on developing strong, mutually-beneficial business relationships with primary insurance company underwriters. This position with require some domestic travel, approximately 25%.

Responsibilities:

The Underwriting Directors are responsible for developing client relationships and submission flow, as well as underwriting and negotiating the transactions.

Required Skills:

8+ years property insurer or reinsurer underwriting experience

Desired Skills:

• Proven ability to work as part of a team
• Demonstrated customer-service focus coupled with strong negotiation skills
• Strong Property Underwriting Acumen including an understanding of coverage, risk hazards and policy forms
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Sound Computer/Technology skills
• Desire for continued learning

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree (ideally with a degree/major in Risk Management, Economics, or Business) or equivalent training required
• Additional industry-specific study and designations (such as CPCU, ARe) a plus
