Position Summary

Ascot is looking for an Underwriting Support Assistant to support and manage workflows between multiple departments, by preparing renewals, managing correspondence filing, and handling other miscellaneous functions, as needed. The Underwriting Support Assistant will collaborate with underwriting and operations to support the business units in a consistent and timely manner.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and coordinate transactions for (multi-line) insurance products. This includes, but is not limited to submission clearance, policy issuance, endorsements correspondence filing, etc.
  • Work with business partners to ensure the timely processing of information related to insurance policies
  • Monitor and respond to critical business needs in a timely and professional manner
  • Analyze and validate data to ensure quality
  • Support the Operations Technical Specialist and other colleagues as needed
  • Participate in special projects as requested, and perform additional assignments as instructed by the manager

Qualifications

  • 1-3 years of related work experience
  • Experience in the insurance industry a plus
  • Demonstrated ability to work on a team, meet deadlines, and successfully perform in a changing, fast-paced work environment
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Self-starter and focused eye for detail and accuracy
  • Effective time management and organizational skills
  • Associates Degree preferred; High School Diploma required

Compensation

Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to experience, subject matter expertise, and skills. The base pay is just one component of Ascot’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include annual cash bonuses, and other forms of discretionary compensation awarded by the Company.

The hourly rate pay for this role is: $18/hour
