The headquarters of the AXA Group (GIE AXA) brings together our corporate activities. It provides guidance and support to subsidiaries around the world, to ensure the coordination and monitoring of the Group's global strategy, the application of its standards, the consistency of commercial approaches and the sharing of best practices. The headquarters gathers approximately 1000 employees and is distinguished by its strong international culture (45 nationalities), which makes it a rich and stimulating place to work.

Within the Group, you will join the Group Communications, Brand and Sustainability Department.

Within this Department, you will be part of the Group Communications and Engagement Team.

Your job and daily missions:

JOB PURPOSE

The purpose of the Corporate Communications & Strategic Planning Manager is to define and deliver the mid-term strategy of Communication of the AXA Group to promote and develop the image of AXA and the engagement of its audiences.

In order to succeed, the holder of the position must analyse both the internal and external environment, have a strong capacity to coordinate stakeholders and Group or local level, and manage a team of various expertises, in a sensitive and demanding environment.

DIMENSION

  • Directly manages 5 people (grade 6 & 5), drive a +350 people network worldwide, with 4.6M€ budget.
  • Position holder’s team delivers +30 campaigns/events a year, almost all of them including CEO and/or MC members.

CONTEXT AND MAJOR CHALLENGES

With multiple business lines and geographies, AXA has a complex structure. In troubled time, with limited resources due to efficiency, innovation, sharing, persuasion and coordination of all stakeholders is critical to develop and promote AXA’s image.

The department “Corporate Communication & Strategic Planning has been created by merging two teams (one communicating on Business/strategy topics, the other one on HR/CR topics, both led by senior grade 7), with the aim to:

  • Bring all communications topics & priority under one unified leadership, for a more strategic and consistent approach;
  • A simplify point of contact for all stakeholders, building ground for stronger coordination;
  • Uniting different skills in the same team.
  • Efficiency & balance of workload.

The challenges of the position are mainly:

  • To bring added value to the top management regarding to AXA’s communication;
  • In a “empowered” relationship with entities, rally them around Group key objectives & topics;
  • Keep a very high level of quality of deliveries, in a constraint and sensible environment.
  • Attract, keep and develop expertise skills in the team.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Build and coordinate the global corporate communication strategy
    • Participate on the design of the global communication strategy and manage its operational execution
    • Propose key messages, actions and ideas for an impactful, creative and successful execution of the global communication strategy
    • Ensure stakeholders’ consent and support (MC members, Top 250 executives, Entities, external Partners…) and coordinate them.
  • Guarantee the right execution of the internal communication strategy
    • Ensure the successful delivery of communication priorities (campaigns, events, announcements…)
    • Manage key internal events of AXA Group around the CEO and MC members, to engage internal audiences such as the GLN and Employees through qualitative and innovative format (i.e AXA Days, Townhalls, GLN Catch’up and Gatherings…)
    • Monitor the impact and performances and deliver optimization plans
  • Guarantee the right execution of the external communication strategy
    • Ensure the successful delivery of key communication priorities (campaigns, events, launches…)
    • Develop AXA’s image through impactful communications and/or events, in line with the Group’s strategy and in coordination with the relevant stakeholders (Vivatech, ChangeNow, Women’s Forum…)
    • Monitor the impact and performances and deliver optimization plans
  • Deliver strategic thinking, foster the creativity and propose new initiatives
    • Set up a permanent benchmarks & analysis to adapt year-to-year strategy, detect opportunities for the AXA Brand and internal engagement.
    • Develop and lead a highly expert team in a challenging environment requiring diverse skills and strong leadership.
    • Continuously foster innovation.
  • Serve as the central orchestrator to deliver communications strategy and actions
    • Ensure a strong relationship with business partners at Group and entity level (CEO office, HR, Group Strategy, CEOS…)
    • Lead and coordinate entities’ communication network
    • Foster knowledge management and best practices.
    • Build up constructive relations with external stakeholders, drive negotiations and ensure smooth relations.

Votre Profil
  • Analytical, organizational and project management skills
  • Strong written and interpersonal communication skills in English
  • Ability to rapidly understand, assimilate, analyse and act in complex and uncertain environments
  • Ability to win key stakeholders buy-in in a consensual manner and to escalate smoothly to the right governance any significant blocking point
  • Ability to work independently, identifying required next steps to solve problems
  • Strong managerial skills
  • High level of knowledge of the group and its businesses
  • Ability to manage at the same time influence, strategy & operational decisions.
