Position Summary
The Underwriting Assistant is a team player performing tasks that directly support the Healthcare product line underwriters. The role focuses on front-to-end activities throughout the lifecycle of prospect accounts and renewal from submission to expiration. These tasks will be performed with guidance from the Lead Underwriting Assistant.
Responsibilities
• Prepare information needed to market new and renewal business
• Set up new business, renewal business and quotes for underwriters
• Interact with brokers for missing information
• Monitor various reports for consistency
• Policy issuance and endorsement processing
• Initiate and follow through with requests for missing information
• Assist in accounting procedures such as invoicing
• Data entry into multiple SaaS systems
• Answer incoming calls
• Multi-task between projects
Qualifications
• Minimum 3 years insurance underwriting support experience (agency or company) in Healthcare lines of business
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Expertise in Microsoft Office with an emphasis on Excel spreadsheets
• Excellent attention to detail
• High-level of motivation to get things done
• Willing to take on challenges
• Able to prioritize important and pressing tasks
• Innate organizational skills, and focus on personal responsibility
• Remote and limited in-office work environment
Compensation: 65K+ (based on experience) plus bonus
