Underwriting Intern
Job Description
As a valued intern on our Underwriting team, you will be gain experience with and exposure to Underwriting tasks such as:
- Correspondence with brokers, vendors, underwriting team
- Preparation of accounts for modeling
- Drafting quotes and binders
- Post-binding account changes/ transactions
- Policy issuance including correspondence to drafting team and broker to ensure policy is issued per binder
- Endorsement processing and issuance
- Inspection processing
- Accurate and timely status of accounts within systems throughout the underwriting life cycle
- Operation of internal controls and timely closure of Internal Audit and other actions
- General office administrative duties as and when required
Qualifications:
- Must be actively pursuing a bachelor’s degree or master’s degree in Insurance Risk Management, Finance or Business
- Pro-active and driven to learn
- Excellent computer skills; proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Highly organized with attention to detail
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills
- Able to work easily with cross-functional teams
- Able to work 40 hours per week for 12 weeks
- Authorized to work in the U.S. without future sponsorship
