We are dedicated to developing future leaders of our organization and the reinsurance industry. Currently, we are seeking candidates with 2-5 years of P&C insurance to fill the role of Facultative Underwriter.

Essential Functions

• Underwriting evaluation for multiple, general casualty, lines of business
• Analyzing submission material followed by requesting and researching for additional information to achieve sound understanding of the risk being presented.
• Pricing the risk based on OdysseyRe pricings tools and other underwriting factors specific to the risk, terms and structure of the placement.
• Negotiating pricing, terms and participation to maximize profitability for OdysseyRe
• Reviewing policies and endorsements
• Marketing/Communication with brokers
• Work within team environment sharing knowledge and idea’s
• Underwriting authority dependent upon background and experience

Required

• Bachelor’s degree
• 2-5 years of casualty underwriting experience in insurance or reinsurance
• Concentration in AL/GL/UMB for mid to large commercial accounts
• Exceptional presentation and communication skills, both verbal and written
• Strong analytical and decision making skills
• Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
• Ability to work as part of a team
• Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
• Discretion in handling confidential/sensitive information

This role offers a hybrid working schedule

In New York City, NY the pay range for this role is $120,000-$150,000. This role may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program. The specific offer will depend on an applicant’s skills, experience and other factors. This range is specific to New York City, NY and may not be applicable to other locations.
