Munich Re Specialty Group North America (MRSG N.A.) is looking for enthusiastic individuals to join us as we grow. As part of Munich Re Group, we are a unique organization providing expertise in specialty and marine lines of insurance as well as surety risks and customs bonds with in-house claims solutions.

We are seeking a full time Associate Marine Underwriter to join the Roanoke Insurance Group division as a hybrid employee in our Schaumburg, IL office or one of our other regional offices (NY, SC, FL, TX, CA) reporting to our VP, Cargo & Liabilities Underwriting.

Job Profile

• Underwrite risks in accordance with Roanoke’s binding authority

• Client visits where requested/needed

• Support the overall marine team as needed

• Responsible for managing the peer review process and reporting results to the Compliance Officer quarterly

• Responsible for notifying field offices of policies coming up for renewal that require underwriter review/approval

• Review commodity report and description on certificates to determine if there are any inconsistency with excluded commodities per the binder/policies issued

• Run premium and loss reports as needed/requested

• Additional duties as assigned

Job Requirements

• Producer’s license in home state (would be required to obtain within 60 days of hire)

• Excellent interpersonal skills

• College degree or equivalent work experience

• Good written and oral communication skills

• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
