Zurich is accepting resumes for our 2025 Apprentice Program, apply today! The program launches at summer 2025 between June 16th through July 14th.
About the program:
Our innovative Crop Insurance Apprentice Program allows participants to simultaneously gain their first-time higher education and the experience to launch a rewarding career in crop insurance.
In one of our RCIS offices Apprentices will support our Underwriting Services Team with:
- Reviewing customer applications
- Communication with internal and external customers via email
- Processing policy documents and policy changes
Earn & Learn:
The two-year program offered in Sioux Falls, SD, Anoka, MN, Fresno, CA or Winston-Salem, NC combines targeted online coursework at Northeast Iowa Community College with relevant work rotations at your local RCIS office location. The ideal candidate is seeking a first-time associate degree and has minimal college credits completed.
Apprentices who successfully complete this two-year program will:
- Work in a paid, benefit-eligible full-time position at Zurich
- Work M/W/F, School T/Th, paid for all 40 hours/week
- Earn a tuition-free Associate in Applied Science degree in:
- Agriculture Business at Northeast Iowa Community College
- Receive a Department of Labor Certificate of Apprenticeship
- Possess credentials and skills for today’s ever-changing marketplace
Basic Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Professional work experience not required.
- Must be enrolled and validated as college ready by Northeast Iowa Community College Admissions.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 1 or more years of work experience and/or leadership role in student activities and/or significant voluntary community service
- Interest in pursuing a career in the crop insurance industry
- Ability to balance multiple priorities between work and school deadlines
- Strong customer service skills
- Collaboration and problem-solving skills
- Ability to communicate with impact
- High degree of self-discipline and focus
- Attention to detail
- Ability to collaborate and work successfully in a team environment
- Intermediate computer skills, specifically Excel
- Ability to navigate learning and interactions in an online environment
Compensation for roles at Zurich varies depending on a wide array of factors including but not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set, and level of experience. As required by local law, Zurich provides in good faith a reasonable range of compensation for roles. For additional information about our Total Rewards, Click here. Other rewards may include short term incentive bonuses and merit increases. Candidates with salary expectations outside of the range are encouraged to apply, and will be considered based on experience, skill, and education. The salary provided is a nationwide market range and has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location where the position may be filled. The starting salary range for this position is $17.22.
